I hope you are all enjoying what remains of the holidays. Below you will find the results for the first Maths Assessment for the year. The test focused on the following areas of student development:

  1. Organises numerals to create 4-digit numbers
  2. Orders 4 and 5-digit numbers in ascending order
  3. Expands 5-digit numbers
  4. Identifies the larger of two numbers
  5. Adds and subtracts 100’s and 1 000’s to a given number
  6. Rounds to the nearest hundred
  7. Rounds to the nearest thousand
  8. Uses working out to solve 3 and 4-digit addition word problems
  9. Adds uneven numbers
  10. Completes 4-digit by 4-digit addition
  11. Completes 3-digit subtraction with borrowing
  12. Completes a subtraction number chain
  13. Uses working out to solve 3-digit subtraction word problems
  14. Uses working out to solve
The display below details how successful each student was in each area. The colour code is quite simple:

RED – Achieved! I know what I am doing!

ORANGE – I think I have it! I can do most of them, but need a little more practice.

YELLOW – I need your help, Mr E!

Some of the questions were extremely hard and were put there just to test you. I was so happy with all your efforts and hope you look at the results and focus on what areas you may need to improve upon. Remember, it is my job to help you and all you need do is ask:)
